going into senior year... stats: -GPA: we don't have a 4 points scale...it is a 99 weighted, probably a 95 unweighted.
-Rank: Top 10%...8 or 9/154
-Courseload: Toughest I can take...I have a very small school which only offers 4 APs..I am only taking 3 cause I can't fit AP Stats into my schedule for next year. Other than that everything is honors.
-SAT's: 1260 (660v 600m)
-School: Tiny, public, PA.
EC's: (I'm not going to give them all) Varsity Cheerleader (Captain), Wrestling Manager, NHS, Art, and the like.
I want to go for International Relations or Political Science
Schools I have been looking at: St. Joe's, American, GWU, Fordham, Penn State Main.
Does anyone have any ideas for safety schools and what are these schools to me? Any other suggestions for me to look at?

I think you should go with the cheapest school you can find (which will usually be your state school). The differences in prestige and academic strength are marginal at certain levels. |

I'd suggest trying to get into some harder schools too. Not to be too much of a troll, but check out Brown...They don't really seem to care too much about SAT scores. American University is good too. Plus you'll be in good ol' Washington DC. Fordham is good. Boston University might be a good choice too. For other publics you could consider: UMD-College Park and Binghamton University, maybe UPitt too. Although your SAT would put you a little below average-your GPA helps, so I would apply to maybe NYU as a reach. Trust me, that's where my parents want me to go (good rep + in-state tuition) or Lehigh or Lafayette (I live in the Lehigh Valley so they are close to home, but that really isn't what I want)
I am going to take SAT's again in October and try to break a 1300...I didn't prepare before, so I am going to force myself to open an SAT book over the summer.
I have basically no concept of which schools are safeties because I always feel like I won't get in anywhere...haha I have a complex.
