Looney toons were diminished bc they made so many cartoons. Disney made No Cartoons and it worked. Nintendo is doing the same thing atm. The fewer Games they make, the more powerful they become. Ghost of Yotei: Last month although it's western-developed 😞. Renowned by reviewers bc you play as a Woman.
Btw did you notice that these games, for the most part, at least attempt to target a more mature audience somewhat. FF7 has a few things going on in the story that a liberal artist might find interesting - fascism, environmental terrorists being the good guys, Jewish villain in (((Sephiroth))) with the blood of (((the ancients))), human sacrifice, Tifa's tits, Cloud hallucinating about being cool because he's 5'7, diversity and inclusion of Barret, and so forth. Death Stranding 2, meanwhile, is the most intellectual Title since Death Stranding 1 imho. |

Prime 4, new Pokeshit game, pretty much whatever I want. Switch 2 needs to justify itself. Because right now, it's The Same. Worse in some ways (handheld graphics of Switch 1 games), better in others (cyberpunk and other western ports). Nintendo fans, meanwhile, want to count everything."Wow, just wow! Cyberpunk! It's The Same! But Worse!" — "Hey r/switch2, Prime 4 is coming! I'm excited for this new Switch 2 game!" Frankly, and I'm using this term in the Normal 20th century way, they're Coping. Coping with having a Console with No Games.
Like, when Final Fantasy IX came out and PS2 was already out, people weren't posting to PS2 boards like, "hey guys. this is Huge. The Latest Title. Let's talk about it on a PS2 board." They didn't need to do this. Even when they had No Games the first year. It didn't matter. They had DVDs.
But Nintendo fans, given the conspicuous absence of Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, Pierce Brosnan, Rareware, Xenosaga remaster, or even a PROPERLY Switch 2 appropriate rendition of more graphically intensive games like Metroid, or anything else that appeals to males aged 14+, are left with nothing. All that they can talk about are Sales. In one breath modern gamers have a consensus that "console wars are dumb" and "exclusives are dumb." In the next, "10,000,000k units shipped, champ." The duplicity and double-speak are revolting imo. They know exactly what they're doing. They are ashamed of caring about console wars but they want so, so badly to win the gen. |
