Shooter: Patrick Wood Crusius.

Motive: White supremacist, anti-immigrant, “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory.

Victims: 23 killed, mostly Hispanic/Latino shoppers.

• Charleston church shooting (June 2015, South Carolina, USA)

Shooter: Dylann Roof.

Motive: White supremacist ideology; wanted to start a race war.

Victims: 9 African-American churchgoers killed at Emanuel AME Church.

• Tree of Life Synagogue shooting (October 2018, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA)

Shooter: Robert Bowers.

Motive: Antisemitism and white supremacist beliefs; blamed Jews for immigration.

Victims: 11 killed, several injured.

• 2020 Boogaloo murders (California, USA)

Shooters: Steven Carrillo and accomplices linked to “boogaloo” movement.

Motive: Far-right, anti-government extremism.

Victims: Federal Protective Service officer killed, sheriff’s deputy killed, others injured.

• Jacksonville shooting (August 2023, Florida, USA)

Shooter: Ryan Christopher Palmeter.

Motive: White supremacist beliefs; swastikas and racial slurs on weapons.

Victims: 3 African-American victims killed at a Dollar General.

• Norway attacks (July 2011, Norway)

Attacker: Anders Behring Breivik.

Motive: Far-right extremism, anti-immigration, Islamophobia, “cultural Marxism” conspiracy theories.

Victims: 77 killed in bombing and mass shooting at Labour Party youth camp.

• Wisconsin Sikh Temple (Oak Creek) shooting (August 5, 2012; Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA)

Shooter: Wade Michael Page.

Motive: White supremacist ideology; hatred toward Sikhs, considered a hate crime/domestic terrorism. 

Victims: Six worshippers killed immediately; a seventh died later from injuries; several others wounded, including a police officer.

• Buffalo supermarket shooting (May 2022, Buffalo, New York, USA)

Shooter: Payton S. Gendron.

Motive: White supremacist ideology; anti-Black racism; belief in the “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory. 

Victims: 10 killed (all Black), 3 injured.
