It's funny because my dad and both of my grandfathers are squares who were all one-woman men. But if you go back farther it gets messy.
-one great-grandfather was a hound. He cheated on my great grandmother and explained it away as a summer fling. They stayed together but the legend is that she dressed like a slut and wore makeup for the rest of her life. There is also a story about a time earlier in his life when he showed up to a family gathering with a beautiful mystery woman he claimed to be his fiancée but she was never seen again. Also 20 year age gap between him and his wife. He was pimpin.
-one great great grandfather was a ship captain. Had a ton of kids with his wife but was never around and cheated constantly. Wife went insane and the kids were raised by her sister. He was always on the road slangin it.
-other great great grandfather had an affair with the maid and knocked her up. She was sent away and then my great great grandmother came down suddenly with an illness doctor's couldn't explain and died unexpectedly. I am guessing this was poison. The maid came back and he married her and "adopted" her son who looked just like the father. Everything worked out expect for my great great grandmother who was almost certainly murdered. |

They’ve actually been married for something like 15 years at this point so I guess she has his balls sufficiently under the boot.
The kids of his I was/am close with have cut him off, I forget exactly why but there is no shortage of valid potential reasons. |
