this isn't even out of bias against his policies, just purely from a strategic standpoint. i think trump was very beatable in 2024 and any charasmatic moderate (e.g. biden circa 2016) would hsve beat him.

they interpreted "kamala is an affirmative action candidate" to mean that people want a white dude. despite the fact obama was the most popular candidate in living memory 20 years ago. what people actually mean is that they don't want an obviously unqualified and unlikable candidate shoved down their throats just because of her race and gender. kamala was polling like 40% when she got the nom and michelle was polling like 57%.
instead, they're going with the wokest white guy. all this does is lose whatever knee-jerk identarian swing voters out there that voted for kamamla because of her identity. trump captured the most POC votes a GOP candidate has in decades against a black woman! gavin just gives people even more permission to vote GOP.
they're going to spend the next three years having gavin "pivot" to the middle. as if there aren't thousands of hours of soundbites from 2019-2024 from him about woke shit and covid. they truly think people are stupid and will buy his "hello, fellow moderates!" schtick. coming right off the heels of kamala's disastrous "wtf, i love the cheyneys now!" campaign. |
