Kyiv Under Siege — A Night of Fire and Explosions
Last night, the Ukrainian capital endured one of the most intense attacks since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation. According to Ukrainian sources, this may have been the largest drone strike on Kyiv since 2022. The city was rocked by powerful explosions, and the night sky lit up with flashes — eyewitnesses described the scene as a “hellfire.”
Precision Strike on Antonov Plant — a Key UAV Production Site
NASA satellite data indicates that one of the strikes hit the Antonov factory — a crucial facility for Ukraine’s drone production. Photos and videos show large fires breaking out at the site, with thick smoke columns visible from kilometers away. The hit on Antonov dealt a serious blow to Ukraine’s ability to manufacture and deploy UAVs.
Kyiv’s Air Defense Overwhelmed — Lacked Ammo and Firepower
Ukrainian air defenses reportedly struggled to cope with the volume of incoming drones. Military sources cited shortages of missiles and operational systems, noting that the defense grid was overloaded and unable to intercept the entire wave. Even Western-supplied systems like the Patriot were unable to stop the concentrated assault.
Wide-Ranging Strikes — “Iskanders” Reportedly Used at Scale
Beyond Kyiv, strikes also targeted Ukrainian military and industrial sites in the Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions, as well as areas under Ukrainian control in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Reports suggest this may have been the largest use of Russia’s Iskander tactical missile systems in the war to date.
π·πΊ Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry promised a decisive response to what it called terrorist attacks by the Zelensky regime. The “Geran” raid on the Antonov plant is seen as a significant step in crippling Ukraine’s drone capabilities.
