I didn't take her calls so she set up this little tableau where she took like 10 aspirins and did an oops cut. I called 9/11 to have her trundled to the hospital and had the locks changed while I was at work. (We'd been living together two years, but happily only I was on the lease.)
So they cart her to the hospital, but then it turns out she made me her emergency contact, and she enlisted the aid of one of the nurses to try to guilt/shame me. I said I had no obligation to speak with her, best of luck to her, and you'd better call her mom. I also said she was a risk to herself/others, and described some of her extreme and outrageous conduct to try to make sure her commitment would last a while.

Instead, the box has done everything possible to shatter the "past is the past frame" that would allow hatp to maintain some faux veneer of respectability. Indeed, rather than just simply . . . enjoying a new relationship with him . . .she has employed him to fight her decade-old attention whoring battles. The best metaphor is a dude who marries an escort or pornstar. He has automatically been debased by the act, but the sting is much weaker if she has genuinely left "the life" behind and it isn't an issue she forces him to confront on a daily basis. Conversely, his humiliation is magnified if she constantly has ex Johns or scene partners flirting with her, and he is forced to publicly defend her honor, reminding everyone he married a whore. Or perhaps she still makes somewhat racy Instagram posts, and the new husband becomes the butt of jokes as he defends her from anonymous interlopers calling her a slut. He is denied the dignity of coming to terms with his wife's sluthood in private.
Rather than quietly moving on with their lives, the box has put the indignity and humiliation of HATP on display for all to see. We all know has to be struggling with her past in the back of his mind, yet he can't even get the mental space to address it. Not only must he accept it, he must publicly endorse and assent to it. And he must do so while the box reminds everyone that she is fundamentally the same person she was 10 years ago with her inability to just . . .leave. So we have such spectacles as him whiteknighting her while we are also constantly reminded that she licked the shit out of some turdskin's ass, and not some abstract past partner, nay, the man himself is here to tell the tale!
And to top it all off, this is happening on xoxo of all places, a judging community if there ever was one. And HATP is forced to spend hours, literally hours every day defending the box's honor and having his own life embroiled in drama. He probably spends 8-10 hours here every day, or more. And the box describes his contributions in the most humiliating and emasculating terms . . . two samurai back to back fighting off a horde of dorks. To see a once sort of decent poster brought low and clinging to pathetic straw men (if you can't accept a woman who ate Arkan's ass I guess you better marry a virgin!) is a sad thing indeed.
