89 - 92 before grunge. GNR was still the top band, rap was still a niche. no grunge. sega/super nes. Hulk Hogan still huge, movies were epic (Batman, Dances with Wolves, etc). the hangover from reagan was still present and the immoral clintons were not yet in power.

I think the 50s were probably objectively peak America. But none of us were alive during that time so we can't ever truly know or understand it

Imo it's a better and more coherent and meaningful question to ask: "what was peak America during our lifetimes?" And in that case I agree with op

yeah bullshit. No one was running around with off the charts levels of technology induced FOMO anxiety in 1994 while longing for the gas lines of their 1979 youth or the vietnam draft a decade prior.

the best radio? are kids these days even exposed to traditional radio?

you'd think best economy would be a pretty easy thing to measure. no one who was 14 in 2008 is likely fitting into this graph.

Most of the nostalgic movies made after the war were about turn of the century 1900-1910. I always figured that must have been like their 1950s. Then in the 80s everyone did the 50s. Now they do the 1990s.
