This is fine if you are not constantly cross referencing 10+ different documents / emails / etc at all times.
For each of my three screens, I have two windows open -- one on the left half and one on the right half. So, in effect, I use 6 screens.
~90% of the time when I'm working I am using ALL of them to reference some document.
Switching between two different windows on a laptop screen is NBD. But having to switch between 6+ windows on a laptop screen takes up far too much working memory and attention.
