The European Theater is massively overrepresented in our education and collective zeitgeist re WWII, and especially D Day. Only serious people who took the time to read and learn know about all the other stuff like the Invasion of Italy or the entire Pacific theater which was massive and huge and cemented the USA’s place as keeper of global geopolitical order with its blue water navy. I went to middle school at tasker, where that kid got shot by the dc sniper. One day this black power negro got in my face and asked if I was a Jew and I was trying to convince him I was not. Another day, my clothes got stolen out of my locker during gym and I had to go home in my little gym outfit. My dad was erect the second I walked through the door. I sighed and went straight up to his bedroom. You know the scene in boyz n the hood where tre is crying and throwing punches in his room? That was me that evening except I was screaming racial slurs.
I ended up befriending them in high school but middle school sucked. I started goofing off during class, throwing paper and shit at the teacher, etc. they loved it. |
