let's flesh out op some more

- you're paying bmw/mercedes prices but those are more prestigious

- no extra safety cachet like volvo which is also an also-ran brand but at least makes sense from a perspective unrelated to your own misguided vanity

- most audis are rebadged volkswagen, they use all the same parts lol

- no cool factor, even their "cool" cars just sort of become mundane after a couple years like the rs6 avant. in my lifetime only the r8 was cool for a few years because rappers started buying them

- suvs are all mommy mobiles, not aggressive looking at all

Have had 2 A6s, an A8 and now a Q7. They've all been reliable. Have also owned BMW and M-B. Prefer Audi overall. Never got flipped off so much in my life as when I had a Mercedes. Most Audis are anonymous, which is how I like it. They are less of an appliance than Lexus.

I had the V8 A8, but not the S. It was supposedly 0-60 in 4.2. Enjoyed the power, but rarely could use it. It was a bit boaty and had a small trunk because of the huge back seat. I moved to the Q7 in honor of my aging joints. It feels more agile than the A8. Both had/have air suspension. I went to lunch one day and watched a guy my age get out of his Corvette. It took him nearly as long as it took me to eat. Thinking about getting a new F-150 to replace my 2018. I prefer trucks to anything.

I will say i like the look (blue on black grill) and interior, the electronics. but i'm not a car guy really and i'm not as rich as some of you all so I can't quite afford a $200k G Wagon just yet

the sensors go off constantly which is annoying af. my tires are not flat and there is nothing wrong with my suspension

it does well in the snow / Tahoe. in summary, i'm gay

I’ve got over 90k miles on the first gen sq5 with the supercharger. I fucking love that car and it never gives me trouble. Will probably get the sq7 with the ttv8 next.

i had two S4s, both manuals. a great option for an enthusiastic driver with room for more than one other.

but that was years ago. no idea what their lineup is now, and the car podcasts i listen to all say that the RS6 is a snoozefest.

Audi made some great cars until about a decade ago. Things started to get iffy about 5 years ago. And today's lineup is nearly a total mess unless you want to drop $150k on a wagon that no one will care about except 12 people on a car forum. Or the e-tron GT which loses half its value in a year or two.

Someone in the thread called them the German Infiniti. They're really more like the German version of Subaru. AWD-focused, rally history, and increasingly made for soccer moms and lesbians.

Their V6 and V8 engine designs are the worst you'll ever see. You can watch YouTube videos of them being torn apart and inspected. No one will repair them and you'll see why. I assume they still have some good 4-cyls
