Extremely common. Enjoy. And this is also very encouraging, given how clerks last year couldn't *find* jobs, much less get courted for jobs.

We get a bunch of these. Seems like the firms that send these things out send it to all judges in the circuit.

we have started to get these in chambers--not many, but from a few different firms. interestingly, the plaintiffs' class actions/ securities firms have been recruiting heavily (maybe they think they have a better shot at landing fed clerks ite?).

i heard last year there were basically no firms recruiting, so at least the hiring outlook is somewhat improved.

Do they have clerks' names or are they generally addressed to the judge's clerks without mentioning anyone in particular?

In my chambers, it was primarily "to Hon. such and such's clerks," because they may not necessarily know who you are, but they sure know that they like Judge X's clerks. A couple of direct pieces of mail came to me, but they were rare.

The letters we receive are usually addressed to the judge and ask they him to please share with his clerks.

Most of the ones we've received so far are personalized with our names. I have absolutely no idea how they know who we are.

The Judicial Yellow Book or whatever has the names of clerks if judge decided to provide them when they sent out that year's survey.
