I remember reading some thing about accounts of survivors that jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge (or some other large bridge known for suicide attempts.) Apparently the one universal thing all of the survivors had in common was that they regretted jumping the second after they did. They had immediate regret as they were plunging towards their (potential) doom.
In the face of actual impending death, they started to realize that all of their previous problems were either solvable or manageable.
Change is always possible, even if it feels impossible.
