I find it nearly impossible to motivate for my 50/hr week, 3 day in office "jerb" now. Why did I work 70+ hrs, 6 days in office for that long?

crazy shit

I don’t know. I’m gearing up for my last couple days right now. I have 2350 in the books for 2025, which isn’t great, but I’m old now and I have kids and I can’t hit 2500 anymore.

Not all biglaw specialties are created equal. My partner created a niche for himself (and me) where he can rely on recycling old work for a lot of our hours. Not always the case, and I have pulled my share of all-nighters, but it's a lot better than, say, litigation.

I put in biglaw hours in the military and earned like $60k. Granted the work wasn't as stressful and there was more cutting up and fucking around with my friends, and the trade off was free law school, but I feel like if I went debt -》biglaw and skipped military my earnings would've been a lot higher.
