I used to try to keep up at least a little bit of baseline knowledge so that I could make conversation with people when necessary and follow what they're saying. But the "culture" has become such completely uninteresting slop that I can't even bring myself to do that anymore
It just objectively sucks. There is nothing appealing about any of it. Everything is made by and for women and brown people, the most lowest common denominator slop garbage imaginable. Whenever I do occasionally engage with some current cultural item, it's so bad that it's not even angering, it just elicits bafflement at how unbelievably dumb it is, like it's trying to satirize itself
I think the deterioration of the sophistication of native white westerners is in no small part due to this deterioration of cultural quality. If you only consume retarded shit aimed at retards, you are going to become more retarded. That really is how it works. Pretty soon your brain no longer has any frame of reference to comprehend anything but retarded slop
Millennials are the last generation who remembers a pre-dead culture world. The 90s and early 2000s were not some kind of bastion of high culture, but culture aimed at normal, reasonably sophisticated white people did still exist. The Obama years really were game over for culture. Ever since then there has been nothing. That is probably how history will remember things, too |
