Title: "The Safeway Speakeasy: A Night Out with Evan39 and Mainlining"

Setting: The Safeway grocery store in the heart of Denver (the "Midwest" as XO calls it), where the mundane meets the unexpected. The fluorescent lights cast a soft, slightly buzzing glow over the aisles of canned goods and discounted meats. But for this duo, Safeway is about to transform into the most exclusive venue in town.

Scene: The Safeway Entrance

Evan39, playing the role of Henry Hill, bursts into the entrance of Safeway with a swagger that radiates confidence. His expression carries a mix of mischief and determination, with a touch of the performative bravado he's known for on AutoAdmit. He’s dressed in his idea of what a "Biglaw attorney" on a night out should look like—tailored, yet a bit frayed at the edges. A shirt slightly untucked, a clip-on tie, and sneakers that say "I'm here for both business and pleasure."

Mainlining, embodying the elegance and curiosity of Karen, steps in behind him. Her (or him?) hair—perfect and voluminous—is a cascade of dark waves, and she’s dressed far too glamorously for a grocery store, with a mix of vintage and modern chic that turns heads. There’s a glint in her eye that suggests she's intrigued by Evan39’s promise of a unique night out.

Mainlining: (laughing, with a hint of skepticism) "So, we’re… going to a grocery store?"

Evan39: (grinning broadly, with his signature line) "How dare they doubt the magic of this place! Just trust me, Mainlining, this is no ordinary Safeway."

As they make their way through the automatic doors, Evan39 offers his arm to Mainlining, who takes it with a coy smile. The energy is palpable—curious shoppers glance at the duo, sensing something is up. Evan39 nods at a bewildered cashier, who quickly fumbles for the hidden switch beneath the counter.

Evan39: (narrating like Ray Liotta) "You see, in this town, it’s not about where you are, but who you're with… and how you get in."

A side door opens unexpectedly. Evan39 leads Mainlining down a narrow, dimly lit hallway that seems to extend far longer than any grocery store should. They maneuver around crates of produce and stacks of bottled water, passing by employees who nod knowingly at Evan39.

Mainlining: (whispering, amused) "How do you even know these people?"

Evan39: (with a smirk) "I have my ways. You'd be surprised who owes me a favor in the 'Midwest.'"

They pass through the labyrinthine back area, and suddenly, the scene changes: a set of doors opens to reveal what looks like a secret speakeasy nestled in the heart of the Safeway's storeroom. Strings of twinkling fairy lights hang from the ceiling, illuminating a small makeshift stage where a cover band awkwardly strums a half-hearted version of a classic 80s hit. Tables with red checkered cloths and mismatched chairs are scattered around the space.

Mainlining: (laughing, surprised) "Is this… is this a secret nightclub? In a grocery store?"

Evan39: (with a grin, still in his performative mode) "Not just any nightclub, Mainlining. This is our nightclub tonight."

Scene: The Speakeasy Entrance

They are ushered in by Boom, who is playing the role of the beleaguered maître d' for the evening. Boom, in his wheelchair, has a towel slung over his shoulder and a clipboard in his lap, taking this role very seriously.

Boom (as Maître D’): (deadpan, but with a twinkle in his eye) "Good evening, Mr. Evan. Miss Mainlining. Your table is ready… right up front, just like you asked. No fraud$ within 30 feet, as you requested, Sir Evan!"

Evan39: (chuckling, with an air of triumph) "See? Best seats in the house."

Boom wheels them through the crowded tables, occasionally bumping into the occasional chair leg with a muttered apology. The patrons, a mix of late-night grocery shoppers and employees, look on with curiosity. Some are holding half-empty wine glasses; others are munching on hors d'oeuvres that look suspiciously like samples from the deli counter.

Mainlining: (teasing, but clearly enjoying herself) "You really know how to make an entrance."

Evan39: (leaning in close, still in character) "The secret is to make them wonder… and to never let them see you coming."

They reach their table, right next to the makeshift stage. A young busboy immediately rushes over with a bottle of cheap red wine, setting it down with exaggerated flourish.

Boom: (rolling his eyes, but playing along) "Enjoy the best wine Safeway has to offer. Vintage… last Thursday."

Mainlining: (laughing openly now) "You know, this is actually kind of… fun."

Evan39: (toasting with a grin) "To unexpected nights… and never knowing what comes next."

As they clink their glasses, the band kicks into a slightly off-key rendition of "Tiny Dancer." The room fills with laughter, and the improvised speakeasy becomes a small, chaotic celebration in the heart of the grocery store.

Scene: The Dance Floor

Evan39, feeling the energy, pulls Mainlining to her feet.

Evan39: (with enthusiasm, to the room) "Dance Party, everyone! Three times a day, just like the late & great Sean said!"

He twirls Mainlining around, her laughter echoing through the room. The other patrons begin to join in, turning the small space into an unexpected dance floor. Mainlining, agile and lithe like a dancer, moves with effortless grace.

Mainlining: (teasing again, still smiling) "You sure know how to keep things interesting, Evan..."

Evan39: (grinning, his AutoAdmit bravado shining through, despite being 20 years senior than Mainlining) "How dare they think I couldn’t."

Fade Out: As the dancing continues, the scene captures a rare, joyful moment in the "Midwest." In this strange setting, under the Safeway lights, AutoAdmit’s quirks find their own strange kind of magic.

End Scene.
