We are projecting our western values onto them with this obsession over graphics. Metroid is a bastard franchise that Nintendo dgaf about and it sells way way less than online chatter indicates, and exclusively to low-T westerners. So I’ll forgive them for not investing $200,000,000k in graphics. Even though not doing this sort of thing makes switch 2 pointless (it’s a switch 1 game btw).
Also Metroid prime being good to begin with is a fanboy internet force meme. They just wanted something Mature to play on their shitcubes. The funny thing is that no one was paying attention when Prime 2 & 3 came out, and as a result Prime 1 is venerated and no one has even played 2 & 3. There is no way half of these fanboys have played the whole trilogy heretofore.

You could show Halo and Metroid 4 to a casual gamer and they would not be able to distinguish between the games. The failing art design shows that the intellectual braintrust at nintendo is completely bankrupt. If they didn't have the artistic chops to do metroid justice, they should have made another Turok game instead because it is less shameful from an artistic perspective to copy real life (realistic graphics) than it is to blatantly rip off another failing FPS series.
