What's the point of living in full ignorance?

We spend 80-90 years doing everything "God" supposedly told us not to do. We still do it, because we can't see beyond this realm, and have no idea if there's punishment.
Then maybe we reincarnate and do it all over again, without any record or progress from past lives. So what's the point of it all?
I'm pretty sure we're just part of some endless evolutionary experiment, each of us thrown into life with a mix of traits and conditions just to see what we'll do.
We live, fail, die, suffer, and repeat. Maybe that's all existence is: an infinite loop of testing with no escape.
