best way to tell is to look at the evidence for connectionist models of the mind. that debate has been settled and only unreasonable people who don't want to bite the bullet and accept neural network scaling as the final AI paradigm are thinking "AI is a bubble".

That's hard to do. I'm just thinking about raw demand for silicon. If the bulls are right, no GPU dies will go unsold, because total worldwide demand will exceed the combined output of all the chip manufacturers. Even if AMD products are inferior they should sell out, because Nvidia will be sold out too.

If that DOESN'T happen there is a massive imbalance between prediction and reality. It will mean the bulls were way off.
