The recent backlash against e.g. black crime and hispanic benefits abuse comes not even from what we claim it does on the surface (skin color; the existence of crime to begin with); it comes from the shock experienced when seeing not just the lack of gratitude but outright hostility towards the fact that we exist within what we and our ancestors have built and given space to others within It's confusing for a very long time and eventually unless you have unlimited patience (read: money. most racists are not ultra wealthy, and it's not because they're racist) it becomes a well of anger |

I notice and understand race and make decisions with that as a supporting factor, but I also give friendly people of other racial and cultural groups a fair shake when I meet them, often with mixed results. Am I evil for it? Am I worse than the lib completely insulated from the issues of the "world of men"? Am I worse than the impoverished hick who has come to---understandably---rely on racism as a defense mechanism against the machinations of the wealthy pitting groups against each other in a "strategy of tension"? There's a lot to unpack on the race question and lib money just trying to ram through this stuff that's basically just "Have a bunch of money lol prole" is not just classist but utterly insane for anyone who has to deal with this stuff on the ground, in reality. This is why I say what I do about the Dems; they dropped the ball on working class advocacy, which should be the chief mission of the Democratic party, to focus on this celebrity strewn and prestigious but largely hollow endless cultural revolution against things that are pillars of our, and pretty much any, society |
