These make sense for traveling musicians, but are comically stupid for anyone else.
It's great if you want to "travel" the country in a vehicle that's too big to actually go anywhere where you can see anything.
It's great to "camp" in if yu want to be totally disconnected from nature.
I can see where those Mercedes Benz vans are the new toys because at least you can sort of drive them normal-ish places.

This is a better option but still probably more expensive / worse than just staying a hotel.

Seems the Mercedes logo on a van is like a "rob me" sign. If I'm going to be sleeping in a van I want something low-key on the outside and very nice on the inside.
