the GOP is operating in severed head mode. it's already dead, but it has no idea what to do other than 'cut corporate taxes' as a spluttering reflex action, even though it is incoherent in the context of the campaign Trump ran, the wishes of the party's middle/working-class voters, the long-term survival of America, etc.
i'm 99% convinced a violent revolt will be required to accomplish anything in the US. the stranglehold is too complete.

yeah, that was the idea. realignment. the GOP's 'Nah, we're just cutting taxes and Medicaid again like it's still 1987, lol' rug-pull seems like final confirmation that the 'elite' have no organized intention of saving themselves.
i guess they are planning on going the Peter Thiel 'survivalist' route and riding the meltdown in their New Zealand bunkers.

i mean, it was always a 97% probability Trump/GOP would never actually deliver on any populist/nationalist realignment, that the GOP were just running a kind of *edgier* updated version of the Southern Strategy (w/ phony promises of 'mass deportations', racialist dog-whistles).
it was still worth voting for Trump to affirm that populism/'America First' nationalism is the will of the electorate, even if stymied, and also to expose that there is likely no possibility of reform via legitimate channels. it was necessary.

bro, you've been talking about how our government, even the trump administration, is the worst thing ever. now you want the government to wield power over private industry. what gives??!?!
i actually think america's corporations are surprisingly pro-social. they have pulled back on most of the shitlibbery after it became apparent that shitlibs had not in fact Permanently Won. the worst thing you can say about them (and it's pretty bad) is their support for mass immigration. but other than that they're really not all that bad
