“They were overpaid” isn’t a reason for a generous severance
Anyway I don’t want to sound like a Redditor but idc
The real Losers ime are the Losers who’ve only worked at Generic Company LLC. Job Interviewers take an extremely superficial look at resumes and literally dgaf about your gay “accomplishments.” Whereas the Optics of hiring some worthless Meta Alum makes them look shrewd. The Meta Nerd gets an Interview at Amazon or something. The Social Proof of “trillion dollar company, champ,” goes a long fucking way irl. But if they’re like “this other candidate did 5000k Things and is good,” someone else will be like “yeah but he’s Poor. He has no RSUs. Fuck that guy,” and everyone will nod imho. None of the above applies to the same extent to Engineering and its autistic hiring practices.
