These bears all got the taste for human flesh all of a sudden. It's like word got around and all the bears were put on notice that we're just weak sacks of fat, like penguins

we didnt even evolve here, we were engineered by aliens and engineereed badly, if I may be so bold. I hope all members of the Natural Earth Collective get the memo and wipe us out. If bears dont succeed, maybe snakes will, or even venemous spiders. At the end of the day, and one way or the other, we must be eliminated. Its the only way to be sure.

Pumas and jaguars with higher level understanding would be tough to control. These Japanese bears have come up with a breeding rhythm that gives them a population advantage they didn't used to have. I don't think Japan can reduce the population meaningfully by hunting right now. They really need a strategy

It's not about taking over but maintaining persistently high population levels and being able to withstand whatever the locals will throw at them.

Wow, this is Japan's best current take on the situation and it's awful. It's only near the end that she mentions the bear corridors. It's true that Japan created those, so it's almost like brown bears and black bears were forced to live together and got to know each other. Blaming this on "not enough nuts" preposterous
