tommy needs a ~3 month temp ban from this forum for his own good. it's possible he could be Reformed and would return after his time-out with more healthy behavior. i don't think he's necessarily a lost cause. but his current behavior is unacceptable
nobody else here needs to be banned. it's literally just those few people responsible for 95% of the pollution of the board. even obeezy i don't think spams enough for a ban to be justified
all it would have ever taken is for rach to show up once a year and hand out bans to the ~5 or so worst problem users. just like in real life, a tiny percentage of the population is responsible for virtually all of the crime. get rid of them and most of your problems go away |

oh, and his investment threading, which is just infuriating because he's been told 100 times to just do a couple ETFs and shut up, but he keeps making active trades and has managed to grow 900k to $1.3m in one of the longest, strongest bull markets in history. |

Date: August 18th, 2025 10:39 AM Author: mark e. smith of the fall ((zurich is stained)) i think this boart is unfortunately done for. in particular over the last year, outing is just done repeatedly and constantly, with zero repercussion. that has an obviously negative effect on participation here. i'm the one person who has been outed the most, and i actually get a kick out of it because nothing bad has ever happened to me, and to be honest i'm pretty much financially independent so i don't really give a fuck if anything does happen, but people see me being outed and they are terrified it'll happen to them so they just quit poasting. i contend this is a huge part of the reason that the board is now almost dead (although that could just be my narcissism).
hilariously, spaceporn is at fault. he's misidentified like 23 people here, but he did actually correctly guess my IRL and he started spamming my name after i made the infamous squirrel thread. i feel like this normalized outing and now a bunch of people routinely have their irl names poasted here. |

recently there was a news story about a biglawyer who (allegedly) called a black coworker "nigger," and the biglawyer's name was published by his accuser. spaceporn made several threads and posts on this board fishing for information about if the guy posted here and what his moniker(s) were, in an attempt to attack and harass this person and cause damage to their life. he had no prior relationship to or interactions with this person whatsoever. this is extremely malicious and anti-social behavior and has no place here
but he's responsible, directly and indirectly, for so much content creation here. so i hesitate to suggest that he should be banned. really, the right thing would have been for him to have been banned years ago, before the board started declining, and before all the back and forth outing involving him. but that's all in the past now |
