Jamie Raskin defends Plaskett by saying she was “taking a call from a constituent” (Epstein’s primary residence was the U.S. Virgin Islands) Rep. Jim Himes, ranking member of House Intel, gave a fiery and impassioned defense of Plaskett, calling her “one of the finest” members he’s served with and saying he’s fought to keep House Intel “immunized from the sewage that flows through this chamber” Plaskett spoke at length on the House floor, says of the hearing: “I got a text from Jeffrey Epstein, who at the time was my constituent, it was not public knowledge at that time that he was under federal investigation and who was sharing information with me" "I heard from someone recently that I was taking advice from him. Now let me tell you something: I don’t need advice on how to question anybody from any individual. I have been a lawyer for 30 years," Plaskett said, citing her extensive experience as a prosecutor The House voted against censuring Stacey Plaskett + removing her from the House Intel Committee (3 Rs voted present)
