Date: August 25th, 2019 3:54 AM Author: Bright Infuriating Hospital the diary on a woman's encounter with vicious right wing fanatics at a bar in Richmond, Virginia, which brings to mind a little social experiment I tried during the winter holidays. I grew up in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, but now live and work in Chicago. I went back home during winter break and decided to try something. I wore a trucker hat with the Kerry-Edwards logo, and beneath it was inscribed, "We TRIED to tell you!" I went out into every public venue, wearing that hat, whether it was a movie theater, shopping mall, or a starbucks. The goal was to see how many Bush supporters would confront me verbally or even physically. One of my friends was actually worried and offered to protect me if something happened. Much to my dismay, not a single Republican (this is Georgia, mind you) confronted me. I got a lot of cold angry stares but not a single comment. Now, I'm a 6'1'' Asian guy who is reasonably well-built, so I'm wondering if my size intimidated some people. Or is it because most Republicans are just too scared to confront unashamed liberals? I really couldn't figure out why because a part of me wanted the rush of a confrontation. After reading the woman's diary it makes me wonder what drives right wing extremists to openly confront strangers over politics while in my case, deep in the heart of Red America, not a single person challenged me. |

Was out at 2 different rooftop parties last night and got home at 4 AM. Tonight me and like 50 of my classmates went to an all you can eat sushi restaurant and did multiple rounds of sake bombs. We were screaming "sake sake sake bomb!" and then pounded the table hard enough so that the sake shot glasses fell into our cups of japanese beer. We also played drinking games at the restaurant and were shouting and clapping. The other customers looked at us in amusement, but we simply didn't care. To us, it was normal MBA bonding. After that we went to a classmate's penthouse apartment with a nice balcony overlooking the city. He hired a professional DJ and bartenders, open bar! It was packed and a fucking awesome party.
Tomorrow is back to reality since I need to actually do some school work and get ready for recruiting. But stuff like this are extremely common, and we are already discussing our travel plans for the winter. South Africa, Hong Kong/Singapore, St. Bart's, etc., are all on the table.
Business school fucking ROCKS!!! I laugh at people who insist that college (4 years of having to stress about grades, not having money, being surrounded by immature insecure shitheads, drinking shitty domestic beer) is more fun than business school. I guess ignorance is bliss for these people.
Anyways OP, keep up the good work and continue having a blast at Kellogg. No other life experience before or after will equal it. |

1. You didn't get laid. 2. No girl would ever look at you, destroying your theory and years of trolling about how a MBA would be killing it with the ladies. 3. The reason some people had a blast in college is because of #1. One day you might make it to a Somalian whorehouse and get laid and post endlessly about how much you and the hookers "bonded" and it's the "best time of your life". 4. You seem extremely sober at 3am and what's even more pathetic is that your first and only highlight of the night is posting on WSO, a message board that is 90% undergrad college kids who are too busy getting laid and "bonding" to refute your inane stories. |
