Shitlaw boss here. I recently hired a new associate. Through various marketing tactics, I have created a massive stream of leads, whereby prole prospective clients contact me in a panic, asking for legal help. It's been great, but it has grown beyond what I can handle.
So, I recently hired this chick as basically a saleswoman. Her job is to talk to the masses when they call in and try to convince them to use our services. (Our biggest practice area is rural real estate disputes). She gets a percentage of the initial payment that the clients make as a commission. She previously had a PI firm but she got divorced, sold the firm, and moved to my state to start a new life. I have several other associates but they just work the cases that I (and now this woman) bring in.
First week, I did a lot of training and did calls with her. Results were solid. Since then, results have declined. Today, she didn't sell anything. Also seems to be lacking urgency and taking her sweet time to call prospects back.
Aside from the lack of urgency, her big problem seems to be asking for money too ssoon, instead of letting people talk and giving them some free advice first. I'm going to do more practice calls with her this week, but what does XO think? If sales don't get made, my people won't have jobs. What should I do here?

This week didn't go great. She brought in about a quarter of what she needs to. I spent a lot of time with her and she really just doesn't sound confident on the phone. The whole thing really makes me sympathize with Alec Baldwin in Glengary Glen Ross. I could do great things with the leads that she has, it's frustrating that she can't.
Anyway, thinking of double teaming some calls with her this week to try to ease her into doing them the right way.
