$10K reward offered in deadly shooting at Little Village jewelry store caught on camera
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Cook County Crime Stoppers are offering a $10,000 cash reward after two men were shot to death during a jewelry store robbery in Little Village.
The crimes happened around 5:49 p.m. at a jewelry store the 3800-block of 26th Street on Saturday, Chicago police said.
An armed offender entered a business at the location and stole property, police said.
After the offender exited the business, he was in an altercation with two victims, men ages 63 and 25. The suspect shot the two men multiple times and fled southbound on Springfield Avenue in a white SUV, CPD said.
The victims were both taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition, and they were both later pronounced dead, police said. Their identities have not yet been released.
Cook County Crime Stoppers on Sunday offering a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest in the double homicide.
A business nearby shared surveillance video of the incident exclusively with ABC7.
A man in a Blackhawks hoodie and mask can be seen walking up to the jewelry store right around 5:45 p.m., just before the robbery and shooting.
Within about 30 seconds, the suspect runs outside with some merchandise from the store as two men chase after him. The altercation continued in the middle of the street near oncoming traffic, and then right near the corner of Springfield. The offender could be seen pulling out his gun and shooting both victims.
Police say no one else was hurt by those gunshots that were fired off in the middle of the street.
No arrests have been made as Chicago police continue to investigate.
