I have a Mercedes GLC 300. Would like to drive a Cayenne.

Is it worth it to buy it straight-out or lease it considering I'm not going to keep the sucker for 5-10 years and there will be new features and shit coming out in 3 years anyhow.

try selling it private party, first. also, look at how your state does sales tax. some, like california, tax the entire new car cost. others, only apply sales tax to the difference between the new car minus the trade in; adding more incentive to trade in.

I had a GLC 300 recently as a rental and wasn't impressed.

Depends on how many miles you put on it and what lease vs purchase deals you can find.

Water gets into everything. Whatever electrical component just stopped working (the door locks?) is just the first of many that will get water logged and short out. Some require dealer reprogramming, so get used to that

Got my wife one of these. She STRONGLY preferred her VW Atlas. Found that sale options are for roughly two-thirds of what we paid for it a year and small change ago (admittedly, a lot of miles for a year).

Now have an unused porsche cayenne soaking up insurance premiums, sitting undriven in the driveway, like I'm a mexican.

What's wrong with the Atlas? She can fit as many children in that thing as I can in my Yukon XL denali.

It's just got third world interior quality. I'm still sore from sitting on those granite-painted-like-leather seats. I worry about breaking everything I touch

Oh yeah, well, I don't recall exactly, but I think it costed less than a third of what the porsche did so expectations need to be tempered. The leather is waterproof and easier to clean and that's really all I can ask for.

We've had near-constant problems with the computer interface, but after ~75K miles or so that's been true of my yukon as well.

Toyota computers are easy: buy a new one on eBay and replace it by removing at most eight (8) identical 10mm bolts. If you have a 10mm bolt driver in the center console you're good for 30 years
