i'm mostly annoyed because i was getting paid a lot to do minimal work and had a very flexible work life balance so it was a great set-up that will be very hard to replicate somewhere new

will miss some colleagues but have been there almost 10 years so quite a few have moved on in that time. it was a great place to work though, so definitely bummed i had to leave

i really dislike international travel and have really hated it more the past few years

every time ive taken a break here and there i find something to do in the usa, the overall experience is just so much better imo and the usa has so much to offer, mountains, rivers, lakes, oceans, hunting, skiing, blah blah blah the list goes on, its all here, its all amazing to good and you dont have to put up with 90% of the third world bullshit you have to put up with when going anywhere else

id rather not put up with the bs in other countries

* browns everywhere trying to scam you

* toilets/showers/ac being weird or nonexistent

* insane drivers and roads/road rules that dont exist

* having to bribe various people

list goes on and on, no reason to leave the usa

Germany, Scandinavian countries, UK and Ireland are better than the US on all of these metrics. Maybe certain parts of certain cities are diversified to shit, but if you like driving and nature you can be selective.

I could see staying local if you live somewhere rural in the west, but LOL at sitting in traffic on 95 to visit some lake town full of east coast Americans rather than getting the hell out of USA when you have a chance.
