Date: March 2nd, 2013 4:24 PM Author: mustard yarmulke don't have my copy anymore, and i haven't found the full text online, it's hundreds of pages. from what i remember there were proposals that went even further than modern AA. the gov't at this point was scared as fuck of black revolution and saw that the only people in these urban uprisings who didn't support them were the tiny black middle class who had a little to lose. some poor whites in detroit joined the riots and looted stores, fought cops alongside blacks (this didn't happen in jersey).
the commission basically said they needed to build up a black middle class ASAP or shit was gonna hit the fan. so you quickly had black political figureheads thrust into power in big cities, a lot of gov't jobs going to blacks (e.g. the post office shitjobs they're trying to cut now), busing, etc |
