tattooed, disgusting bodies swarming together in the cramped aisles, rap music blaring on a boom box at deafening volume.
this isn't even in a bad part of town. it's two blocks from an extremely expensive private school and suburb. but there is no escape. |

The next customer was an annoying black guy who wanted to check his lottery tickets, all of which were losers. When it was finally my turn, they asked if I had "rewards" and seemed confused when I said no. I had to tap my card two or three times before I could finally pay and leave.
