Special counsel = possibility for breakfast down the road, probably practices some niche area or hired from government and firm wants people to know they're more important than regular counsels
Of counsel = formerly had breakfast, or could have breakfast but doesn't want to work the hours |

Now there are any number of iterations and titles. They all mean different things. In some firms, you can incorporate as a PLLC to let the outside know that you're hot shit. |

You can tell the share partners at K&E because they are PC and the non-share “partners” are not. |
