The odd thing about California is the rush to elect black pols when there aren't that many of them and a huge Hispanic population that doesn't break into statewide offices in the numbers you think they should. It's weird.
1951 LA black population was probably sub 5%. After all places like Boston and Minneapolis were 95%+ white cities in 1951 too. |
