Understanding power, by itself, is worth very little. It's like explaining slavery to a slave. Foucault didn't have to advocate passive acceptance, he merely had to habituate his readers to their circumstances to achieve the same effect. Whatever activism Foucault engaged in, he did not discuss it in any of his writings, or suggest that others follow his example.
