The Feds spend $8bn more on VA Disability payments each year than on actually running the Army! You get a 50% disability rating from sleep apnea lol.

About 556,000 veterans receive disability benefits for eczema, 332,000 for hemorrhoids, 110,000 for benign skin growths, 81,000 for acne and 74,000 for varicose veins, the most recently available figures from VA show. Individual payouts for such mundane conditions vary, but collectively they cost billions of dollars a year.

In contrast, far fewer veterans receive compensation for certain combat-related injuries. About 10,900 service members who have suffered “severe” or “penetrating” brain injuries since 2000 are eligible for benefits. Fewer than 1,700 receive disability payments for losing limbs during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

tons and TONS of waste and fraud here, i see it everyday guys walking out of $75k trucks with DV plates. but man it's hard imagine any politician going after this, especially a republican. i think most people think "fuck it, we give money to everyone else, let them have it"

Even better: claim you need payments for depression because you got laid by some slag around post:

“One veteran appealed VA’s denial of his claim for depression, arguing that his mood disorder had been triggered by several other disabilities, including cases of hemorrhoids, genital herpes and genital warts that he had contracted two decades earlier while on active duty.”

Like 95% of guys with lifted trucks are running disability fraud on the government.

Yesterday I was in the slow lane roundabout thing merging onto another freeway. This FAGGOT CUNT in a lifted truck decides to tailgate me, just being a total dick. So I eased my foot on the gas pedal and maintained the 60 MPH speed I had. I could tell this fag was getting MAF which was 180. So he switches lanes into the fast lane when there was clearance (the only other lane) so I gunned it and made sure he didn't cut me off, as he also tried to match my speed. He then tailgated me for another mile before he fucked off, it was 180.

I lost 30lbs while I was in Ranger School, and I’m pretty sure I gained it all back within two weeks of graduating. I made a list of every type of candy bar I could think of while I was pulling security during Florida phase and asked anyone pulling security if they had any candy bars I’d never heard of to add to the list. Then after I graduated, every time I saw one of the new candy bars I would buy it and eat it to try it out. I also moved a pillow, blanket, and spoon into my car so that wherever I was I would always be able to eat and sleep

Tell him to claim PTSD from his time being held captive by the enemy.

“A Post review of 70 fraud prosecutions since 2017 shows VA regularly falls victim to half-baked schemes. In three cases, men who never served a day in uniform fooled the department into thinking they were disabled war heroes; two of them also lied that they were held captive by the enemy, records show.”

"Last year, a grand jury indicted an Army veteran on charges of conspiring to defraud the government of $1.1 million by pretending to be paralyzed. According to prosecutors, she spent some of the money on Caribbean vacations and gambling jaunts to Las Vegas. She has pleaded not guilty. In June, a Vietnam War veteran pleaded guilty to ripping off VA by claiming to be blind for 29 years. In fact, he could see well enough to drive and repeatedly renewed his license."

What's his moniker?

Zachary Barton, a former Army medic from Florida, conned the government into giving him $245,000 to which was not entitled between 2017 and 2021, court records show. When he went to VA appointments, he parked in a spot reserved for disabled people and hobbled inside with a cane. Smelly and unbathed, he wore a diaper and a T-shirt that read, “Not All Heroes Wear Capes.” 11

A relatively young man in his 30s, Barton claimed to suffer from a long list of ailments: urinary incontinence, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, erectile dysfunction, spinal degenerative disease and a neurological disorder that caused one side of his face to droop. He said he could barely lift 10 pounds.

When a VA staffer remarked that Barton actually looked pretty strong — in reality, he was a competitive bodybuilder on steroids with a scant 4 percent body fat — the Iraq War veteran replied that he had “good genetics.”

The scam worked until an anonymous whistleblower tipped off VA in 2019. Federal investigators searched online and found Barton bragging on Facebook and Instagram under the name “Zach Ryan” about being a weightlifting champion. Undercover agents placed him under surveillance and followed him to two gyms.

They observed him doing 650-pound leg presses, a dozen reps at a time

veteran pay is complete shit and dealing with the VA by all reports and accounts seems to be a nightmare

this is one avenue of "graft" that i don't give a shit about. the lives of veterans often suck and if they get a pittance from the national budget for it this is about as acceptable of a use of state cash as there is

The US economy as it is has little to do with how the Republican caucus historically has described it, primarily to fellate and obscure the dealings of their chief constituents

Not making a moral judgement on that (model. it seems to work fine) but all sorts of avenues of state stimulus are built into the model that exists

Actual combat veterans should get lifetime annuities. And cards redeemable for their first beer free at every bar in America

But this is surely all people from “logistics” backgrounds that got an owie-wowie steam burn while boiling a bag of stew in their role as a Greenzone cafeteria worker from 2009-2012

Tons of these guys never deployed. Many of them never even completed Basic or AIT. One of my aunts worked as a nurse at the VA and would tell us stories of the ridiculous things modern veterans got. There was a guy who failed out of Basic but got lifetime PTSD disability treatments for getting yelled at or something like that that.

Are there any vets who are excluded from this? It sounds like everyone can get in on it. Doesn't everyone get digestive conditions?

The biggest came in 2022, when Congress passed legislation known as the Pact Act, which made it simpler for generations of veterans to assert that their ailments were caused by exposure to airborne toxic substances and other environmental hazards while serving in war zones.

The Pact Act has helped many veterans receive compensation for cancer and other serious illnesses diagnosed years or even decades after they left the military, by presuming the conditions are connected to their service. But the law also has led to the approval of a skyrocketing number of claims for treatable respiratory and digestive conditions.

The Biden admin was the most Jewish admin in history. They obviously didn't create this system out of the goodness of their hearts. They wanted a military willing to fight for Israel.

"During the Biden administration, VA went to new lengths to make it as easy as possible for veterans to obtain disability compensation and other benefits."

It's only easy to get VA disability if you set it up while you're in the service, the meaning if you go to the doctors while you're in the service for this or that or whatever and the best thing is kind of like joints joint pain and stuff like that but I tell you as a disabled veteran who has 10% disability and has tried for more but was denied I tell you it's not that easy. Unless you set it up while you're still in the service.. while I was in the service I never went to the doctors except when I had the clap

I was out for almost 30 years before I put in for VA disability. I don’t remember going to sick call once. If not for the Pact Act, I wouldn’t have any VA disability. Because of the Pact Act, I got 100% P&T pretty easily.

I don’t think I deserve what I’m getting if we’re being honest. But, because of the VA, I’ll be retiring about 10 years early. I don’t have to worry about healthcare, college for my kids, my student loans, and tax planning for my 401K will be a lot easier with 50K of untaxable income each year.

it's not hard you just have to be willing to go to the doctor for a year or two and the standard for service connected is low

maybe something changed at some point but I know people w no business getting 50% or even more for stuff like snoring, back pain or "PTSD" from entering stuff in a supply database for 4 years

most of them claimed this stuff long after getting out, the PTSD guy is the exception he was wise to the game and started claiming he was having nightmares and sleep issues in his last year

It's not about the length of time after service that you claim it, it's about whether you are claiming a condition for which you received Medical Care while you in the service.. all I did was have teeth and eyes and hearing test and I came up short on a hearing test when I got out and that was the basis of my tinnitus 10% disability.. the only other time I went to sick call was for the clap two or three times.. other than that I had no Health Care concerns at all in the Navy

Yes I probably could have come up with some other claim but at my age and weight I really have more concerns than getting more disability payments I really have plenty of money and I'm retired but I have severe overweight condition and I'm really focusing all my energy on that

Looks like surviving spouses get $20k/yr.

As of 2025, the base monthly DIC rate for a surviving spouse is around $1,612, with potential add-ons (e.g., if there are dependent children, or if the veteran was rated 100% for a long time).
