This doesn't even make sense. Fewer of them went to college, and they graduated in the 80s/90s and not the great fuckcession. therefore, more of them should've aced OCI on average.

The only thing that I can think of, aside from them just being Poorer, is that parents must've contributed more towards millennials' educations than Gen X, because the latter were so Unloved.

And yeah the boomer balance is weird but most of it was probably just confused Women who went to Nursing school or got other random degrees later in life or something, at schools that don't even offer OCI.

James Bathgate

4 October, 2025

I went to college from 1971 - 1975. I got up at 4AM, went to work at a horse farm mucking out stalls until 10AM, then drove to college and took classes until the evening, after which I would stop back at the horse farm and feed the animals on my way home. Neither of my parents went to college and had no money for me to go. I never applied for any student loan, and I graduated with zero debt because I worked my butt off, commuted to a local public college, and gave up any social life during those years. After college, I got a position in Silicon Valley and went to school again in the evenings to get my MBA. The hard work and discipline I gained by working my way through school made me more valuable as an employee and resulted in a successful career. Did I miss out on four years of fun and parties? Yup! Did I end up with loans that took me decades to repay? Nope!

This guy is a real white man and he is what America is about. Your parents came here 40 years ago. Notice how good things were before you people came here.

In 1970, average tuition was about $394 for public universities and $1,706 for private universities for the 1970-71 academic year. Other costs like room, board, books, and fees were also much lower than today, though they varied depending on the institution.

By the time of millennials, people had wised up more (relatively) about student loans and useless degrees. Gen-X was way more blindsided.
