assuming you had to marry a genetic female, do you regret marrying your wife -- or was marrying your wife the best possible decision at the time? was there some other woman you actually could have married that you passed up on? do you think you'd be better off not having married your wife and played the field and took your chances at whomever might or might not come along?

Going to sound sappy, but I love my wife and couldn’t imagine life without her. Married 20 years.

Because all women- even the ones with the best heart- don't care about YOUR heart. They care about your looks and height, and the character of your soul is never on the decision tree.
Frequently the biggest pieces of shit have the kindest women.
A woman's kindness and tenderness is merely a fourth hole for Chad to enjoy.
Truly a black pill if there ever was one.

Let’s see if I can spice this thread up a bit. I break it down into a five factor test where each category is rated 1-5 and a min score of 15 is a stay with my wife level score.
Mother: she’s at least a 4/5. We have our disagreements about parenting and she’s lazy about certain shit sometimes, but she is a great mom and we have great kids, and to the extent those kids are great because of parental inputs she gets min 2/3rds credit, likely more like 80+%.
Contribution to HHI/net worth and frugality: 2/5 for this. She’s a SAHM and our kids are old enough she shouldn't be and has stayed one largely out of laziness and anxiety. She is generally frugal, at least above average, and her parents will give us some money when they die, but not that much and her mom will likely live 30+ more years so I don’t know that it will do us much good or her mom will spend it all and we will get nothing (in our 70s when we likely would just hand it to our kids anyway).
Cooking and cleaning: 3.5/5, she’s a good cook and cooks healthy good food for our kids, she’s lazy and bitches a lot about cleaning. Times when we’ve had a better housekeeper this mattered less.
Sexual satisfaction/still attractive/general affectionate orientation: 2/5 she stayed thin and is still attractive, especially age adjusted, but our sex life has been disappointing for our entire marriage and generally she is less physically affectionate than I want her to be.
Annoyingness/nagging/enjoyable as a primary companion/good company: 3.5/5 I give her a lot of credit for how good she has gotten at dealing with the annoying parts of my personality and striking a good balance between calling me out and letting stuff slide, generally speaking. I am still happy to hang out with her and hear about her day, watch TV together, support each other as co-parents, dealing with siblings and that kind of thing. She can get very neurotic and can let small shit overwhelm her and generally is just low grade depressed and not motivated to do more than the minimum required for her to not feel useless. This is a somewhat fair description of me as well, though I’m better than her at masking and more high functioning, but I can’t ding her too hard for it. In a lot of ways we still relate to each other like we did in our 20s where we just like that the other person is chill and typically has something funny or interesting to say about a lot of topics, though we’re much more predictable to each other than we were then and we have way less sex now. Overall she’s like toeing the line of “divorce not worth the hassle” when she’s in a more annoying phase, but when she’s not as annoying and whenever I read about dating at any point during the last 15 years I’m thankful we got married.
Final score: 15/25, bare minimum pass level wife.

Going to go with 1) earning power/household revenue creation, 2) height and bf%, 3) cock size, cock function and stroke ability/stamina, 4) household leadership (ie earned trust on major life/finance decisions, ability to make kids admire and respect you, parenting utility is mixed into this), 5) taking ownership and handling “man tasks” in domestic space (ie handiness, staying on top of yard work, can handle any car issues, lifting heavy objects and doing things that are gross like dealing with a routine clogged toilet). I self-assess as 3.5, 3, 4.95, 3.5, 2.5, but husbands require a 20/25 divorce threshold due to US divorce law so I am also not much better than a bare min pass.

Currently divorcing but was married for just under 10 yrs and lived together incl. sharing finances for 15.
Yes I regret marrying my wife. I rushed into an LTR because I was inexplicably fearful of being forever alone and didn't realize I and her were both codependent. My ex is a great person independently we just weren't a good match. She is still objectively attractive but i lost all sexual attraction to her as she turned into a mothering roommate (codependency shit).
If I could do it all over again I would have been much choosier when picking a wife and would not have settled so quickly. I also think its retarded for any male to get married before age 30 which i def fucked up.
On the apps now which are annoying but have been sleeping with far hotter women on a pretty regular basis. Some are cool, some are less so, but life is way less stressful and relaxed now.

Not for a second, my wife is great. There were some cute girls that “got away” in my past but most of them are fat, shrewy, or both now. Dodged multiple bullets.
My wife is thin, feminine, has a great ass and bore me several sons.

could I have done better in terms of looks? yes
could I have done better in terms of mother for four kids? no, particularly when you factor in my profound mental illness
I'm not "happy" with my wife but my happiness was never the point. I got married to have kids. I like my kids.
I've banged hotter women and seriously considered a divorce a dozen years ago, but to what end? More pussy/booze/NEAT time?

my wife is fine but i sometimes regret not marrying my organic college gf of 7 years, just because we shared so many friends and it would have been nice to have experienced so much of life with the same person.
