I don't buy it. None of the Fab Four did anything that great in his solo career, so where did this transcendent artistic vision go? Likewise John and later on George had their own styles but needed Paul to push the music into a more mass-acceptable form. Also by 1970 John's brain was well on its way to being fried by drugs.
