Pretty much the only band from the 60s that feels like they have continuing pop culture resonance and are as big today even with the Youth as they were 20-30 years ago. They are apparently like #64 on the Spotify all time streams list with 2x as many as the Stones. 68 for daily streams. their peers from the 60s all trail by pretty large margins. Interesting case.

they're not for everyone. in general, for instance, you have to have good music in order to "get" them.

IME Boomers don't listen to the Beatles that much. They like 70s music like the Eagles and Steely Dan.

boomers love springstein too. conservahero proles used to love him too but i think that's died down a bit since it's become more obvious in internet-era that he's a shitlib.

Yeah. Boomers moved on from the Beatles, or got sick of them. It's mostly younger people who are into them, and has been since at least the 80s.

Most boomers were quite young for the height of Beatlemania and by the late 60s the Beatles were basically just viewed as another (good) band by the boomers.

The songwriting catalogue has endured and been rediscovered by later generations while the other bands kinda all sound the same (except The Beach Boys who def were their own unique thing at all times)

My mixed kids love the Beatles. Love Me Do and Hey Jude are their clear favorites, and they also like Bang Bang Maxwell and Yellow Submarine.

American boomers were always more into that cosmic cowboy shit that plays on loop at the local prole town radio station. Like 20 songs just rotated endlessly since the 90s. “Classic rock”.
