White billionaire loses Senate primary to random black (NYT)

Date: May 15th, 2024 3:27 AM Author: cerebral lay Angela Alsobrooks, the Prince George’s County executive, won the Democratic primary for Maryland’s Senate seat on Tuesday, setting up a showdown with a popular Republican former governor that could determine control of the chamber.
The Associated Press called the race on Tuesday night for Ms. Alsobrooks, 53, over Representative David Trone, a wealthy congressman who spent more than $61 million of his own money on the race. Mr. Trone outspent Ms. Alsobrooks by a nearly 10-to-1 ratio, but Ms. Alsobrooks appeared on track to defeat him by double digits.

Maryland has one of the largest black voting bases of any states, they heavily influence the outcome of the D primaries. Educated black woman who led a majority black county, of course she's a favorite for the D primary. Then add the progressives who have a knee jerk reaction against any rich white man.
Conclusion of this primary should have been easily known to anyone with an ounce of intelligence. |
