the israel-gaza stuff has made it pretty clear that populism can only go so far when it comes to complex topics like relations between states and much of what's to do with foreign policy to begin with. i side slightly with israel on the matter, with a footnote that the origin and operations of hamas are very unusual and at a minimum influenced by israeli intelligence organizations. the claim that palestine produces a great deal of spiritual effluvium rings true, but similarly i'd say that that effluvium is produced from unnatural and degrading conditions forced on the palestinians
there are better alternatives to all of this. the peoples of the book shouldn't really be fighting like this when there are real threats from outside damaging the fundaments of our way of life
