Zelda and MGS coming out months apart. Goldeneye/Mario Kart/Star Fox 64 trying and failing to compete with FF7 and Coolboarders somehow. MGS2/Halo comping out within months. Luigi's Mansion.... nevermind haha.
Now, everything is The Same. There's no reason to actually attempt to competently make good Games because it won't move the needle. Sony can publish "Returnal" and "Death Stranding 2" but literally no one gets excited about it. It's already a foregone conclusion that they'll Win the Gen and therefore they dgaf. Sony lets gay westerners set $400,000,000k on fire and it doesn't matter one way or the other. Even if Concord were good, it would be multiplatform and therefore debased, and forgotten within months. |

When MS released Redfall the entire Sony fanboy brigade banded together to trash it. If Redfall were the Same but a PS exclusive it would get a 9.1 Metacritic score and be elected for Game of the Year.

Also I know your memory is Short but not too long ago msft was embroiled in antitrust Litigation over their acquisitions which caused Gamers to hate them for buying everything (and Ruining it and closing studios). The Game was trashed on steam as well. The best review it got was on Famitsu, and it was out of Pity, as is the etiquette in the East. 自分より優れた者を尊敬しろ、ハゲのチャンピオン
So yes redditors were doing a victory lap and so what if they did? MSFT somehow turned Sony into an underdog people root for while Losing the Gen. I don’t know how they managed to do that but they did.
