I honestly agree with this. Rap music (that the kids listen to today) is so dumbed down and shitty, that its barely music anymore. I was walking down the Beltline in Atlanta the other day, some nearby car was blasting some rap song - the vocals were so vocoded that it didn't sound human. And I say this as someone who enjoys rap, it was unlistenable.
Then I later turned to Shade45 on Sirius and heard some fucking great modern throwback hip hop stuff, I think it was a song with Guru on it and some chick, it was fun, smart, and great.
There will be some dude, like you said, who will turn this shit around.
