My family and I tried out to be on the show once. They corral you and the other families into a make-shift room with shitty coffee and snacks and they take you out to watch a regular taping.
You sit with the audience which they bus in from nearby retirement homes and you watch Steve come on stage and just be an all-around jackass.
You can tell the staff put up with Steve's antics because "He's the Talent", not because they actually think he's funny.
FINALLY, your family goes on stage and you are instructed to do dumb exaggerated shit like crossing your arms in a big "X" when the other family is answering a question. Plus, you're instructed to give FUNNY ANSWERS to some of the stuff that pops up.
You spend about 8 hours going through this shit only to find out that YOUR FAMILY didn't make the cut and that you're being sent home. BUT they might call you back next month or next season since the show is taped from Feb - May.
EDIT: They pair up the teams based on race. So try not to show out NIGGER during the competition, they frown on that. |
