In terms of pricing, you are paying the difference between the MSRP and the "estimated" residual value at the end of the term. The manufacturers are literally guessing just how much the car is going to drop in value over the course of 24/36 months or whatever.
GM wants to moving these things quickly, especially with the EV Credit being taken away by Trump. So they artificially inflate the Residual Value so that you end up paying less money for the terms.
It's all made up. |

They know that EV's do not hold their value well and so they are trying to get them off of their lots as quickly as possible.
They also know that you can always go to the other dealer in town and get a better offer, so they're willing to bend over backwards and even lube it up for you. |
