But his fucking spouse, an H4, can work anywhere for anyone doing whatever the fuck.
So every h1b takes TWO american jobs, and the second one is completely unmonitored, unscreened, no need to first advertise to americans, etc etc. Just a blank "employment authorization".
The most strident jeety defenders of H1B can surely not, in a credible way, argue that H4s should just be allowed to work wherever with no oversight at all.
Simply cease granting employment auth to h4 spouses. The spouse job is usually the really scammy one, so this alone will kill many jeets, as they need the spouse income.
Same is true, btw, of E2 investors. Spouses can work anywhere doing anything.
The spouse shit should be an easy, uncontroversial fix. Anyone who defends h1b as vetted and "only the best", and "first the employer has to do xyz", can then be asked if they'd oppose it if no safeguards were in place at all. If so, then they must support ending H4 EAD |

All it needs is an executive order to reverse. Trump could have done it in his first term. He could have already done it in his second term.

nonetheless, when laid bare it is an indefensible program. ALL of the employment visas are sold via the idea that the worker is critical and well-vetted and, in any regard, a stopgap because an american cannot do the job.
these claims are controversial, but they are argued.
the spouse EAD has NONE of these claims. its just a rando completely unknown with no threshold skills taking any job they want.
no matter the legal process (eo or lawsuit or statute), it needs to be ended asap |

Non-jeets and chinks they can usually get a green card relatively quickly, but since it's considered an immigrant visa (rather than temporary) it's on the track for spousal employment, which they'd get with a green card anyway. This stopgap will inconvenience a lot of jeets but I don't think it'd meaningfully stop anything, they are so desperate to pollute foreign places and they hate India so much they'll make it work somehow even if the wife doesn't work.
