Tony walks in and AJ is playing Halo or another scummy controller FPS with various energy drinks and doritos on the table. Tony just stands there, watching his genetic investment rot in real time. He knows what this means. AJ’s chosen his clique. Xbox.
From that moment Tony stops seeing him as a son and starts seeing him as a xbox player. A scumbag loser. So he sends him to work construction, to spend his days among Carrhart wearing men, Tony later breaks the xbox and AJ attempts to drown himself.
