What I can't understand is if you are willing to blow 5k extra or whatever for a 12h flight why not just do premium economy instead or pay for a bulkhead seat or fly on a better airline like Emirates or stop over some where to break up the journey like do 3-6h flights via Euro, Turkey, etc. Id rather do that but obviously time is not an issue for me
In my book that 5k whatever cld be spend upgrading hotels. Like if u are doing a 14 day trip u cld litreally blow 2-300 a day exttra on hotels and still have extra to dine at nicer restos. Isnt having nicer hotels and food for 14d better than more comfort for 12h

Because premium econ isn't lie flat and you won't get rest. Bulkhead again you're sitting up jammed in with strangers vs a bed and no one next to you. Why would you want to take MULTIPLE 3-6 hours legs so you are dragging the whole process out for possibly days? Going in and out of various countries through immigration. I'd rather get on one flight, ideally an ULH so more time to sleep and land at my destination fairly well rested.

Not worth it to just have these brief pop ins instead of breaking up the trip and making it easier just makes it a grind. I took that NYC-SIN flight which I think was 18.5h flight time once, i'd do it again. Longer flights = enough time to get a proper night of sleep and not just 4-5 hours.
Turkmenistan is weird, if they haven't closed the gates of hell, def check it. |

I have neck problems so it's either business, or I'll be in terrible pain and splitting headache for 2-3 days after I land. If I don't fly business, for those days I always would rather pay $350 a day to not be in so much pain. I don't even drink when I fly anymore as the alcohol spikes the inflammation so bad it's not even worth it.
Flew coach home last time since the ticket was like $75 and even though I survived, the amount of pain it caused was nowhere near worth the 'savings' |

The wastes of money are things like paying $150pp to get 4” more legroom on Delta or Hawaiian. x4 and then you’re at $600 for the family for your wife and kids to have slightly more legroom to watch their iPads; tbf it is much better for working but I haven’t been able to crack the code of leaving my wife to watch the kids while I sit in a nicer seat with free beer to bill. |
